Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026
Core Privacy CommitmentCourseifier is built with privacy and focus at its core. We do not sell your personal data, run behavioral tracking scripts, or inject third-party advertising cookies.

1. Overview

Courseifier ("we", "our", or "us") transforms publicly available YouTube playlists into structured learning environments. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is stored, and your rights regarding your data.

2. Information We Store

The data we process depends on how you choose to use Courseifier:

  • Guest Mode (Default): When using Courseifier without creating an account, all of your course playlists, notes, chapter timestamps, and completed lesson states are stored locally in your browser via localStorage and IndexedDB. None of this content is transmitted to our servers.
  • Authenticated Account (Optional): If you choose to create an account or sign in with Google/Email (via Supabase Authentication), your email address, account identifier, course library metadata, and markdown notes are stored in our secure database to enable cross-device synchronization.

3. YouTube API & Embedded Player

Courseifier utilizes the YouTube iframe embed player to stream video content directly from YouTube servers. When playing videos:

  • Video streaming and playback interactions are governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
  • Courseifier does not host, download, or distribute original YouTube video files.
  • YouTube playlist metadata is fetched using public APIs and cached temporarily to format course outlines.

4. Notes and User Content

All study notes, markdown documents, code snippets, and custom course annotations you create belong solely to you. We will never share, publish, or sell your private study notes.

5. Data Control & Deletion

You retain full control over your data at all times:

  • Local Data: You can wipe all local course progress, cached playlists, and offline notes at any time via Settings → Data Management → Clear Local Data.
  • Account Data: You can export your library as JSON or delete your synchronized account data directly through the Settings dashboard.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements or changes in functionality. Changes will take effect immediately upon posting to this page.
